    I really WANT this in the game. It’s like….. super awesome. You let one of these loose on a  line, and after it makes it’s run, you get high speed rails and catenaries.

    Gwinda, could you please expand your cost mod so that we can alter the tonnage and the capacity to all the vehicles ?

    I’m thinking of soething like: trains carry 50% less cargo, are 75% lighter and they cost 50% less to maintain. This should be fun 😀

    Gwinda, about your cost mod: can you expand that so that we can reduce / expand automatically the cargo space of the wagons/trucks just like we can do now with maintenance ? And sorry for posting in the wrong thread; too lazy to find the proper one…. 😛

    I agree that we don’t really need a fully developed map editor. Some basic options would be enough for starters:

    – importing heightmaps

    – add/delete industries

    – grow/shrink town size

    – wider raise/lower terrain

    – plant / delete trees

     

    Most of these functions are already implemented in the game itself, we just need the interface to access that data. Just these should do just fine for a year or two when the have the time to do a decent map / scenario editor.

    Just imagine how many scenarios would the modding community cook up with a basic tool like this and how much will it would improve the game ! Please Urban Games, consider this !

    I want bigger maps !!! The same ammount of industires, cities, citizens, just bigger maps !!! I wouldn’t impact the cpu that much…..

    AVG gives me warnings as well when scanning the train fever game executable, but i added it to the exception list, i’m pretty sure it’s virus free. ( I also get warnings for other steam games, like Starpoint Gemini 2)

     

    Besides, the warning you get from avg is related to their bug tracker system, messa thinks. When the game crashes to desktop, it will send a report to the developers. This in AVG’s eyes is a “security” issue. Crap logic, if you ask me…..

    Realistic distribution of mineral resourses, yeah…. +1. Iron mine near lake is just… weird….. The only thin weirder is an oil rig on the top of the mountain…..

    Yeah, they did a lot of improvements to the game in the last months. I’m quite happy with the patches,even they are extremely slow coming.

    So far teh devs haven’t even touched the industry part of train fever; I can only assume they are aware of how weird is the industry economy right now and they will tinker with it in the future.

    That isn’t possible until the devs release a map editor. AFAIK there is no script that allows you to place an industry in specific conditions (like closer to towns or such)

    Everybody has that problem. When you zoom out, it will load the textures of previous unvisited parts of th map. Once loaded, it sould run smooth, so this only happes once.

    The only advantage I noticed is that it unclutters the map. That’s it. Passengers don’t move faster inside grouped stations or stuff like that.

    One of the “ends” of the game is around 2080. Even if you mod in vehicles with a release date of over 2080, they will not show up in the depot 😀 😛
