Traian TranteParticipant
I’ve found that if I use waypoints at the end of each line the trains don’t reverse so often. It’s still an extra hasle to add 2 waypoints but still….
Traian TranteParticipantAFAIK there is possible to transform two way train line to a 4 way train line, having the high speed trains move on the high speed lines, and the low speed traqins on the low speed lines.
IF and only IF a fast train trails closely a slow train, it will use this bypass to overtake it, if the bypass is long enough. It has to be long enough in order of this to work. A good place to build this kind of bypass is around a station where the slow train stops but the fast one does not.
Note: this is very difficult to pull off.
Traian TranteParticipantWhat is weird is that after the “improved performance” patch i also noticed a small drop in fps. Nothing major but it’s still annoying. On minimukm settings it runs at about 24 fps now. I have an AMD A10-6790K apu.
Traian TranteParticipant+1 to map editor. Workshop would be nice, but I can do without it if it’s too much of a hassle as there are more pressing matters. Like the map editor !
Traian TranteParticipantAny person/cargo goods has to reach its intended destination withing 20 minutes. Otherwise ti just won’t start going there.
In practice, if you have an oil well sending oil to the refinery, the time it takes to get there has to be under 20 minutes, including waiting times in the station , loading/unloading times and transit times. If it takes more tean 20 minutes, there will be no demand for that good and the line won’t start producing.
Traian TranteParticipantI remember those graphs. Reading those I barely got a clue on which engine did what, but in the end I almost always either picked the top speed one or the low cost one.
Traian TranteParticipantTry Gwinda’s Cost Mod. http://www.train-fever.net . It’s not EXACTLY what you are looking for, but you can adjust the maintenance costs to suit your wishes.
Traian TranteParticipantI sometimes (rarely) get the black textures bug. Afaik it’s related to not enough video memory to load the textures in. Try setting the textures and colore depth (in options) to low. That did it for me.
Traian TranteParticipantraandre, teh lags are manageable with a couple of mods. Also, another good thing is not upgrading your cities to their full potential and just not connecting some cities at all. if i play like that the game is totally playable for me.
I know that we shouldn’t do that, but at least there is the option to do that.
And when i red about the double track switches i felt like cheering :D:D:D:D:D:D i just hope it’s true and they’re coming !
Traian TranteParticipantfor me at hard difficulty it was: 1900: banckrupt. 1950: banckrupt, 2000: banckrupt.
Traian TranteParticipantGo to http://www.train-fever.net website. It might not have all the locos you requested, but it has a huge database of downloadable mods for this game.
Traian TranteParticipantI feel your pain, brother….
Traian TranteParticipantMe again.
I tried doing it myself. I took your file from the cost mod : main.lua and added this:
if c == ‘model/vehicle/waggon’ then
data.metadata.transportVehicle.capacities.capacity = data.metadata.transportVehicle.capacities.capacity / 4
end
to the metadataHandler function. however, as expected, it got an error. My guess is the error is because the data.metadata.transportVehicle.capacities is actually an array, not a variable.
How do i sole this ? How do i call all the variables in the array ?
For reference, the open wagon ‘s metadata looks like this:
capacities = {
{ type = “COAL”, capacity = 32, loadIndicator = { type = “LEVEL”, params = { id = 2, maxHeight = 0.88 } } },
{ type = “IRON_ORE”, capacity = 32, loadIndicator = { type = “LEVEL”, params = { id = 3, maxHeight = 0.88 } } },
},
Traian TranteParticipantYes, devs, please give us the option for a map editor.
If you do that it will even fix the cargo economy. We can mod in custom industries like “En-gros warehouse”, place it near the city, and make that industry demand all kind of stuff, (oil, cars, grains, etc,etc….) before they can supply said city with goods. We could even make different such warehouses, some for big cities, with lots of demands, adn some for small cities with smaller demands.
Pretty please, give us a map editor !
Traian TranteParticipantno clue.
