I wish the game time was slow atleast hy twice. In sid meier railroads there was a parameter in config file to change speed.
Some balance or tweaking is required in speed, considering the long time taken by vehicles and time required to analyse outcomes.
According to my point of view.
This game is not a failure overall. Though it has some issues, devs are working on them (my game has already been patched 3 times via steam).
By lag if u mean performance then its not outstanding but still the game runs quite well on my core i7 2700k and Hd6850 gfx. I was still able to run the game on my laptop core i5 with build in intel hd4200 and it was playable.
For making the game more lively, i dont know about the devs but i believe that there is a lot of potential in the community to release mods (there are already mods in development)
For some games like Locomotion, community developed items were better than the games default items.
Overall I would recommend this game to anyone whether he is a transport tycoon fan or not.

I ran this game on my Lenovo Yoga 2 pro Core I5, it has Intel HD 4200 and it ran on lowest settings. It was playable
+1 from me.
Game is quite good and really worth buying. But there are few improvements that could be made like
+Farms are quite dull looking
+More variety can be added to landscape
+More default industries
+Performance improvements
+A better save game GUI

But the frame rates were dropping occationally. I hope the final version is optimized.
Also the map looked empty, (lack of varierties on ground).
Otherwise, everything looks just awesome.
Already pre ordered, waiting desperately for 9th september
