Hi,
maybe this is helpfull:
Can you make the cities so that there are mixed land use areas that are more realistic?
Definitely, yes. The image in the update is just a schematic illustration.
and
As opposed to the majority of other titles, buildings are not premodeled and instanced. In our game world, you will never see the same building twice. There is always something never-seen-before to explore!
An advanced land use simulation decides whether to build residential, industrial or commercial buildings. For instance, residential areas don’t like industry air pollution, but they want to quickly reach lots of workplaces.
Axel SpringerParticipantI am with you bafouu. It is TRAIN fever.
Metro and Trams are nice, but not so im portant for me at release. They make a working game with all basics and after that a Multiplayer, Trams, Metros, Plane, etc.
And that is the correct way…for me 🙂
Quality matters more than quantity. I dont need a second EA Company. And they know what a simu-trans player needs.
Axel SpringerParticipantHi,
no kickstarter. The Gambitious campaign was successfull:
Axel SpringerParticipantHello,
sound, very interessting question NeighborKid.
Level crossing: yes (Gameplay Video 2:50)
Axel SpringerParticipantJust for me: at the first time i dont need a multiplayer. If everthings works fine in the singleplayer mode and they will be fixed the bugs, than you can start with the multiplayer. And i think they prepare right now to release it later.
Think about the costs for server etc.
They have a crowd funding campaign and the investors would like to see asap a working game. So it is simple to make a working game with singleplayer and later the multiplayer. It is not a special multiplayer game like BF oder COD. This way is better than a single player and multiplayer that not works correct (like BF4 at the beginning or GTA).
And with astragon you have a special simulation reseller.
Thats only my mustard and the important thing is: a working game 🙂
Axel SpringerParticipantI dont know. If found it on gambitious (date: march 2013, maybe they will change it).
I hope we will get some answer of those many questions here in the forum. Maybe with a beta Version 🙂
Axel SpringerParticipantHello,
sandbox mode:
Officially, we don’t intend to add a sandbox mode. It may however be a by-product of our efforts to provide…
Axel SpringerParticipantHi,
Hardware requirements will be similar to e.g. Cities in Motion 2. We plan to optimize and increase performance prior to release. We hope that we can set the requirements as low as possible.
CIM2:
2GHZ or more
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800/ATI Radeon HD 3850
Axel SpringerParticipantHi Doug,
air-planes later: http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/what-about-air/#post-1187
Goods freight will be ok, but raw meterials? Is it realistic to transport oil, wood or coal with the air plane?
Or what do you mean with outside world (multiplayer)?
Axel SpringerParticipantYes, way-points very interessting.
Update about industries will comming.
“Freight transport
Our freight model is motivated by the games Transport Tycoon and Simutrans, but many improvements make it more interesting and realistic. Our current design includes coal, iron ore, steel, wood, stock, grain, oil and goods freight.
Raw materials like coal or iron ore are mined at several locations in the game world. These raw materials can then be transported to factories and industrial buildings, which usually process them to goods. Goods are finally needed in commercial buildings in towns. Residents then buy these goods in commercial buildings.
Basically, each building, factory or mine requires some items (freight and people) and produces items if requirements are met. Supply and demand is realistically simulated. Items can be transported by the player, but are also transported by agents (i.e. people walk and workers transport freight themselves, though with low speed, range and capacity).”
Axel SpringerParticipant@Sandroluzern: that will be very interessting what solution we will get in Train Fever. An optional layer it´s cool for beginners and pro´s. Something like Sim City Rush Hour
Mikael, you need a community manager 🙂
Axel SpringerParticipantHe wrote only probably. Maybe it works later or only new industries like locomotion.
Ah here: http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/optische-hilfsmittel-layer/#post-1633
“We have a few graphical overlays planned, for example height curves and traffic-displays. A display mode to display the zone of influence is not possible with our simulated passengers, the player has to study the city structure and create the best possible layout without this helper.”
You have to use your brain 🙂

3. i dont no where, but i read there will be no catchment radius.
Axel SpringerParticipantHi,
first question: http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/map-editor/
Axel SpringerParticipantHi,
“There will be a 256 square kilometer terrain with a one meter resolution”
“Hardware requirements will be similar to e.g. Cities in Motion 2. We plan to optimize and increase performance prior to release. We hope that we can set the requirements as low as possible.”
