I’d have to agree with Morat.

You know that saying ”The grass is always greener on the other side”?

Well, T-F’s grass looks like an accident with nuclear waste. It’s so green.

But actually, for now, the scenery and the AI are my only points of critism. The grass is too green and the world looks very empty. It’d be nice if they added farms or such, they don’t need to be functional (they could be in the future), but just make the scenery less dead.

Right now it’s toxic green grass, fields and occasionaly a tree.

And the AI is just a bit… Yeah… The cars seem to hate each other, and I can already see that they’ll cause massive traffic jams. I think the reason for that is that they just want to move up the intersection, instead of wait ’til it’s clear. And they don’t seem to come to a complete stop, making it even worse.

Oh well, everything in its own time… I’d love to see what the team’s going to do with it.

If I’m right, there won’t be any AI competitors at the release, but devs said they are planned.

Just wait ’til some of the ‘small’ Youtubers make videos about the game.

A gameplay video made by videogame devs wont be very good either, they won’t point out bad sides of their games of course.

Just wait, watch some videos and then decide.
It’d be nice if the devs gave some ‘small’ Youtubers pre-release copies though.

The devs said that there are plenty of plans for DLCs and such and that they want to make the game so that modding will be easy.

If it’s got any replayvalue is something we’ll see when the game gets released I guess.

This forum has a ‘search bar’, I suggest you use it because this actually has been discussed many times before. 😉

Just look at this post, somebody already gave an answer to your question.
There are also a few other topics that are relevant, just use the search bar.

    To put it in short:
No, harbours and airports aren’t planned, but may be added in the future.

    $6-$7 for that game?
    Rip-off *cough, cough*

This is a billion year old game which is just a PC port with different controls…
I wouldn’t be so negative if this game costed like $2-$3, but $6-$7 is insane.

As for a T-F app, I doubt it that that will happen in the near-future (read next 8-10 years). Lower spec/older computers probably can’t properly run it, let alone today’s smartphones. (And besides that, the normal game isn’t even out yet! :P)

I’m also one of the unlucky. Too bad, I wanted to help.

I just really, really hope that the ones who did get randomly selected aren’t just going to F about and not do proper testing… I hope the ‘lucky ones’ realize that if they don’t do what they’re asked to do they will be responsible for bugs and glitches they didn’t report and therefor ruin the experience for all paying customers… And after reading the comments in that other topic I’m kinda concerned about the reason why some wanted to be a betatester… Oh well… Let’s hope for the best. Let’s hope that they randomly selected serious people.

If I’m right some dev said a while back that there will be roads that have buslanes… I can’t say that I’m 100% sure about that though ;).

Yeah, something like that. The DLCs were actually completly new ”themes” instead of just new vehicles on the existing map.

But I guess it was too much work to make traffic drive on the left side of the route in the London and Tokyo DLCs, too bad.

I’d really like to see the kind of DLC for T-F that CiM offered. I’d probably consider buying a UK-themed DLC or US-themed DLC. I wouldn’t just buy a vehicle pack from a country, exept if they’re low priced and aren’t completly out of place in a German-scenery (e.i. Dutch DLC or French DLC).

Oh well, I’ll probably wait ’til I get enough of the standard T-F and then look at mods first. I bet that the T-F community can make nice stuff as well (for free :P).

If they’re going to publish a DLC pack from different countries, I hope they won’t forget to also change the scenery.

It’d be kinda stupid to have (i.e.) American trains with German streets, buses and trucks or UK trains with the cars still driving on the right side of the road.

Also, I think modders can make a UK pack too, since German and UK scenery look a like, exept the cars driving on different sides of the road.

Oh well, let the devs focus on the original game first! 😛

I don’t think there will be a very realistic way of turning a train around.

At first everything will go smoothly, but after a while you will expand your company and multiple trains will probably have to stop at one station. If the locs have to go around the wagons to reverse or drive to a turntable, they wont be able to do that if there are already 5 trains waiting on the tracks to load/unload.

So I expect that ‘in the early days’ trains will just flip around (unfortunatly) and when the more advanced trains will come, the they can just reverse, ’cause most have a loc on each end.

This might be a bit of a post-bump, but I’ve got a similiar question and this topic is still unanswered.

Will trucks take the shortest route or the fastest?

‘Cause in Traffic Giant trucks would just simply go straight trough a town, eventhough it was way faster to take another route around the town or just line up in one big traffic jam on a ”highway” (trucks drove faster on those highways) while there was a clear ”road” (trucks drove slower on those roads) next to it.

Since trucks only need to go from the loading point to the unloading point, instead of all the different bus stops in a town, they wouldn’t (realistically speaking) have to take the same route over and over again.

Long story short: Will trucks have any form of intelegence and find the fastest route or will they just take 1 route over and over again eventhough that route is very crowded?

    Well…

I just hope that beta testers will actually test the game, instead of just playing it and going like ”wohoo, I got the game and you don’t”, especially because you’re a small company. Bullsh** bug reports will only slow down progress.

I’ve participated in plenty of open beta tests that went like that and it seems to me that those games are going nowhere.

So I hope you will ask (read force) participants to do some testing!
