YeolParticipant
“Wait until full load” is a major cause of problems when combining one station with multiple lines. It always generates major problems with the other line not being able to access it’s platform. I think the concept of the truck stations have to be re-thought, so one can effectively use the “Wait until full load”. For now, we need to build one station per line once we use the “Wait for full load” option.
YeolParticipantQ1: I think it is not a real problem when trains are not perfectly spaced, as long as they do not all group up in one line. In your setup (double track, 4 cities, 6 trains) I would use no signals, and let the stations do the work. They have invisible signals. The only 2 signals you need are at both ends of the line where the tracks come together to the one platform of both end stations. Destroy also all cross-overs left in your double track at the other stations (left-overs from a growing line). They are not needed, and just give potentially path problems. Until we have waypoints and alternative platform usage, I believe this simple setup is the most effective.
Q2: In real life it is a common to use fly-overs to cross 2 double lines outside a station, so the trains do not have to cross each other and switch tracks in the station itself. If you do not have the space for a fly-over, you have to cross the lines on level, with points. And since we do not yet have crossings or slips, crossing lines on level is rather cumbersome and a hinder for smooth train traffic.
But these are just my preferences. There is no “best” way. And a part of the fun is solving the puzzles. 😉
YeolParticipantWells-Next-To-The-Sea Siding does not seem to have a road connection?
YeolParticipantIt would be better if the buggy traffic behaviour would be fixed by the developers, so we can compete the cars with an efficient public transport system. 😉
YeolParticipantI don’t know. What is the difference between a little person on the sidewalk, or a car on the street in rendering time?
I think it the growing cities and line-building that make the difference. There are more of those little people out there during the late game, plus all vehicle the player has build over the last 150 years of game time.
YeolParticipantThere are tons of cosmetic issues that might need some attention, but as you said, it’s not a priority. I would like to see them fixed also, but I would first like to see the bugs and core mechanics fixed. But nevertheless, summing those small esthetic glitches is fine, so they can be collected to fix them in one go later on. 😉
YeolParticipantNot at all. 😉 It is a general wish that has been formulated numerous times before, including the UNDO functions. I hope the developers have put this on their priority list, together with waypoints. We’ll see…
September 22, 2014 at 13:55 in reply to: BUG LIST & WISHES: after 120+ hours of gameplay on hard #9655YeolParticipantI forgot on important issue: THE TRACK PLANNER: to be able to build tracks in a planning mode, and commit the construction when ready and sastified. A nic extra gadget-option would be that the construction of that piece of track would take some time, with bulldozers, work people, cranes and work trains building it piece by piece.
YeolParticipantThe “PrtScn” button works also. The image will remain in clipboard until you get an image program (eg GIMP) to read it, possibly modify it, and save it where you like. With Alt-Tab you can jump between game and application.

YeolParticipantI’m Michiel from Waterloo (Belgium), and I’m enjoying this game a lot. I really hope (and have confidence) that the developers will bring Train Fever the complexity and diversity as games like OTTD and RT3.
YeolParticipantAny progress? 🙂
YeolParticipantWhen (if) the traffic bug has been fixed, we can build more realistic roads, and have a fair competition between public and private transport. Until then, we need to resort to more or less cheesy practices (read exploids) to discourage private transport. By using dirt roads, you’re rather nice. Some people delete inter-city roads all together! 😉

YeolParticipantProbably some oversight… not used a passengers station? You would not be the first. 😉
YeolParticipantWaypoints are on everybody’s wish list. I hope it will be in one of the next patches.
