Everybody wants to discuss reasonably… with the devs. Yes, you are right, these discussions among players are worth nothing. The only thing we want from the developers is to tell something like this: “Yes, we are working on the performance, we are going to release the patch tomorrow/someday and everybody, who meets the requirements will be able to play the game smoothly forever.” or “We don’t know, how to fix that, sorry.” The worst thing is that they say nothing, if they admitted that with this game they bit more than they could chew, I would be really ok with that. A bit angry, but at least satisfied, that they have balls to admit their fail.

I understand that programming is hard, but they could wait with the release until all the issues are not fixed. Wouldn’t you be pissed off, if you had to start a new CoD game after two misssions? I would. Wouldn’t you be pissed off, if you bought running shoes that last only half an hour of running and then they had to rest to be able to run again? I would. Wouldn’t you be pissed off, if you had to begin a new university thesis after five pages of text, because Word couldn’t handle more? I would.

I paid for a game (not really a little money here in Czech Republic), so I want to play. There wasn’t any warning, that after a couple of hours of playing the game becomes unplayable.

Nearly every game has its bugs, e.g. GTA series also had (and have) bugs, but even with the bugs it allows me to play it more than 5 hours. And it is not a bug. Bugs are flying or diving cars, some collisions and other unwanted “features”, that are annoying, but do not kill your game in general. In most cases there are some ways to avoid the bugs or make some workaround. But this bad performance makes you to begin a new game nearly every day. I have never had a city with more than 900 people. It was totally unplayable. My PC meets and exceeds the requirements, so why can’t I play the “whole” game, which means to start with slow trains and horses and end with railjets, shinkansens etc. and develop from a small village to a huge metropolis?

Yes, it’s the same in the czech civil code and as far as I know, it should be the same in the whole EU, since a directive sets it. And it doesn’t matter that they are from Switzerland, in the case of collision of laws, the consumer’s national law has to be used.

What I see as a problem is that the game was released in September 2014. Now it is January 2015 and still no solution for the biggest pain in the ass a.k.a. performance issues. The devs have known about it all the time and released ONE performance update and said that “huge lags are history”. Sorry, but I still have brutal lags, so this only update did not help at all.

And you know what? The average gamer doesn’t give a fuck what causes lags and what could be done to solve it 😀 The developers should anyhow make the game run smoothly even after 200 years ingame/forever. I understand that computing all the paths of citizens and vehicles is HW demanding, but that’s not my problem. When you advertise your game with some minimal HW requirements, nobody expects huge performance drops after few hours of playing when the HW is twice better than the requirements.

A comment from the devs would be nice on this topic.

The devs never comment on such topics… There were so many topics and requests to make the game multi-threaded – with no answer. They just don’t know how to do it, so they are trying to gratify us by fixing not so bad issues. I really don’t need depot doors or automatic replace or even american dlc when I am not able to play the game at all! The game should be multi-threaded from the very beginning and I am sure the devs know it. The game is very nice, but is sooo badly coded. I don’t have a superpowerful PC, but I am able to run much more HW demanding games smoothly. I understand the devs don’t want to rewrite the whole game, but that’s their problem, if they had implemented multi-threading at the beginning, everything would have been fine.

The possibility of push-pull trains would be fair enough. There are some mods with control cars out yet… This shouldn’t be so hard 🙂

There is not an easier way than editing a file of the horse-cart and make the speed higher. It takes one minute of your life…

Honestly, I don’t think the devs would make something like that even though it would be such an improvement. They seem not be bothering themselves with much more essential flaws this game has. Maybe this could be done by some mods? The stations does not seem to be hardcoded when there are some mods out yet.

You sir deserve my like. Signed. But I guess the devs will ignore it. They just don’t confess that they are not able to fulfill our requests.

I think the devs just don’t know, how to implement it. It is such an essential thing, that if they did, it would be possible at the very beginning. I think they will try to do something with it, but it will be some kind of compromise, no free and realistic building, but some kind of prefabricated pieces of track – e.g. X junction for 70kph, 120kph, 200kph and so on. Notice, that they are also successfully avoiding to implement multithreading, which, in my opinion is the biggest pain in the ass from the beginning. Maybe they are not able to do this either.

More realistic???? People only bulldoze roads for two reasons.

    1. To make room for new rail infrastructure (as any rail company would do in real life)

    2. To circumvent the games own FLAWED core that has goods still preferring to walk down a dirt road instead of using the 100kph rail line next to them!

I agree with the first one. It is a problem especially in the mountains, where crossings cause awful changes in gradient of your track. But I have to disagree with the second reason. The core is not flawed, you are just not able to make your rail line interesting enough. In other words, it takes longer for the goods to get to the specific factory through your station than by walking. Try build the station near the factories or use a lorry to carry your cargo from station to the factories.

It takes about 3 seconds to save the game manually, so no big problem. I got used to save the game after several pieces of tracks built. I would rather see a performance improvement to be able to play a large map e.g. for 200 years and beyond without any lag since my PC meets the requirements.

Have you noticed? It has been more than a fortnight since the last patch… Yesterday was friday – the day everyone expected a patch which should solve performance issues by multithreading, should implement advanced switches, timetables and everything this community wishes! Guys, things are gettins serious, the devs took the money and do nothing!

So this game is really NOT worth buying.

(this is sarcasm if some weirdos wouldn’t get it)
