One last thing. For the reasons above I would also be very glad if the waypoints were implemented but also an ability to pick platforms for your trains to stop at.
+1 to that too.
FX2KParticipantToggling a rail signal multiple times not only changes which rail the lines use, but also bus/tram routes which are near.
Very odd, seems like a bug to me. Why should a rail signal affect road transport’s routes and why are their numerous routes for the same setup?Compare the turquoise/light blue line, I am ONLY changing the light you can see above the station.
one way rail signal
two way rail signal
One way rail signal
two way rail signalFX2KParticipantI’m probably bad at designing 🙂
Anyway, I just noticed something…which explains what I was seeing…
On one of my routes, I toggled the lights to one way only, as expected the route changed.. I toggled it again and the route changed again, to something different, not the original.. so I repeatedly toggled the lights and it went through a a few possible routes for one of my lines, including the original. So this explains why making a change and reverting it can leave your lines messed up
Below with no other changes, the game gives two different routes for the red line with the same signal status of ‘two-way’
This also changes the route of another line(not shown) between two tracks.
The same things occur by making a change to the track layout and reverting, not just toggling a light.- This reply was modified 9 years, 6 months ago by FX2K.
FX2KParticipantIt pretty much moved 1/2 of my lines to using one track, when I had 4 parallel between a number of 4 track stations
I have fixed it again now and they are again running like clockwork, the line they changed to still exists and is in use, although its not designed to handle that many trains 🙂
One spur caused some strange unexpected behavior. It may well have been something I overlooked, but even so, with waypoints it would have been a non issue 🙂
The main issue was, the lines where all set up working as I wanted, I added a spur, the lines changed.. I removed the spur, the lines remained incorrect and didn’t change back.
I had to bulldoze sections of each track, so as to break the line and rejoin them in some sort of order for it to re-pick / stick with the original intended paths- This reply was modified 9 years, 6 months ago by FX2K.
FX2KParticipant+1000 for waypoints.
I rage quit last night lol. The majority of my train service came to a halt because I made a small adjustment to my rail, causing multiple lines to change tracks / trains getting stuck everywhere… I removed the change but trying to get the lines back to how they where was next to impossible. I had to bulldoze even more and rebuild piece by piece until the lines went back to the original state. I then tried to make another change, slightly different and.. here we go again.
Before hand it was working like clockwork… now its an absolute mess and takes considerable effort to get it back on track (pun intended). I almost feel forced to use exclusive tracks per line, when its not necessary to do so.
I can’t see it being a difficult task for the dev’s to add this, essentially the functionality is already there, it just needs exposing and a slight modification to make a waypoint and not a station/stop.
FX2KParticipantAs vinkandoi mentioned, it takes far too many game years to even see the results of a line after a full round trip, then before you know it, its time to replace the vehicles on that new line. Not to mention the period you get to make use of some of the trains is far too short because of this. I know I can edit that aspect of it though via mod’s but still.
The animations (for me) at the second speed feel’s good, but the speed of the days passing by is waaaaaaay over the top, even on the normal speed setting.
Of course, then the income per passenger / cargo unit would also need an adjustment, but surely it could scale accordingly.

FX2KParticipantThey say they are confident of being able to deliver performance improvements so I have my fingers crossed for some kind of miracle improvement 🙂
My post with the same issue:

FX2KParticipantFX2KParticipantDo you mean the lines window?
If so, it matters where you hover when scrolling.
If you are hovering over the vehicles section, using the mouse wheel will scroll horizontally, this is to reveal all the vehicles for a line. To scroll the actual lines, hover anywhere but over the vehicles. I usually hover over the line names.
FX2KParticipantI haven’t tried with TrainFever yet, but I may start doing some re-paints of my own..
I used to enjoy re-skinning cars on TDU2FX2KParticipantAh well…. I played it for a couple of hours more and I get frustrated how many workarounds i hae to come up with just to get things running smoothly. I have to sink !!! a trainstation into the ground just to cross an upgraded road with a few tracks. Lay out a piece of track, lower it, delete it, reverse the same piece of track, lower that, and so on. I think I will let this game untouchd for a few weeks to see what the devs come up with. Suprise me please…
You don’t have to go that far to cross a piece of road with tracks. If the road you are trying to cross is right next to a junction or in small sections (you can see the sections with the bulldozer tool) then perhaps you need to rethink your track layout or bulldoze the road and re-lay it so its a longer section with clear sides enough for a crossing to be built. I have never had an issue crossing rail over roads. A bit silly that the other way around doesn’t work, but its not an impossible task like you make out.
As for a manual, most games ‘manuals’ are literally a ‘here are some keybinds’ now go play the game.. I for one would prefer to work things out and learn the mechanics rather than be told to place a station here, another here and Win.
The following points you raise are more about what you would like, just because the game does not contain them doesn’t mean its incomplete. Different games have different features, few games have everything everybody wants.
I bought just half a game. Roads that can not pass rails. The whole world uses railcrossings except for Train Fever… No option for SHIFT-lay track or road (So i can lay out tracks in a straight line). Stations that can handle only passengers or cargo (why not both?). No extra modules that I can “upgrade” my stations with like a restaurant, or cargo storage, or waiting rooms.
Even so, I am not saying the game is perfect, I have my own issues with it, but its a damn sight better than a lot of AAA games where the dev’s don’t give a [explicit word] about it once the money starts rolling in.
Before buying, I did my research and knew what I was buying.. it sounds like some of you didn’t and I mean no disrespect to anybody above.

FX2KParticipantVery thanks @FX2K, i make some fixes and add your sugestion to .zip now , very thanks.
No problem , I have Just re-downloaded and installed via mod-manager 🙂
Its working well, thanks.FX2KParticipantTip: If you change the file to .zip rather than .rar it can be used with the ModManager.
You can also include a tfmm.ini file before the res folder including the name / versioni.e: tfmm.ini
name = Brazilian Intercity Buses Mod Pack
author = Maicom MR
version = 1Thanks for releasing 🙂
FX2KParticipantNo real train enthusiast will be satisfied with something that plays out in a few hours or days. If the time scale is made moddable, I bet we will see mods to make a game year last many hours.
And I will be right up their with the first people to download such a mod.
It would be nice to hear from the Dev’s on this one, whether they would even consider it at least. -
