Screw them cars and the traffic jams they create. Lower the speed of them and they won’t appear any more. I only see a few now in my games and my bus stops and train stations have passengers again.

This guy lowered the speed of the cars to 50 – http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/mod-traffic-decongestion/ – which works but I made mine go 2 mph but changed to 10 mph because sometimes a bus will get stuck behind one of the few that shows up.

There is no issue with. I agree that it is not easy to understand the game mechanics.
You are already a member of the German Fan-page.

    Please read:

    http://www.train-fever.net/index.php/Thread/1407-Tips-zum-Erstellen-effizienter-Tramlinien/?pageNo=5

There is no issue with. ??? What are you trying to say here? Please explain. And yes, I am a member of the German site but most of the posts are in German and the translators suck and confuse me more so I don’t read much there. So I’m not about to read, or try to read, a full page of something in another language that I won’t understand without knowing why I should. I did look at it but have no idea what I’m suppose to get from it.

EDIT: I read the first 2 posts there and they are talking about trams. I was talking about cars so I don’t see the significance of reading more.

Thanks for replying. Yes, all of the roads stations use the medium roads so they can not be changed without problem. And all of the rail stations use the small roads, that’s why I had to change them for my No Small Roads mod.

I just asked the guy testing it and he said he it worked fine and no bugs. He didn’t say what year he went to or anything else so I don’t know. Atleast he didn’t have a problems with it.

I think I just found a problem that might be causing other problems. The sidewalk height on the country roads are different and I think it might be causing problems. I’m gonna post this info in a bit and maybe they can take a look into it.

OK, I just installed my Thinner Large roads and opened a saved game. I see the problem. If there are large roads built already, they will be messed up. I’ll have to add that the mod is not compatible with saved games. I’ve used this with other games and never had a problem but they were newly generated games so I didn’t realize what would happen with saved games. Sorry, my bad.

Still, this has nothing to do with the medium roads because I never changed them.

Sorry, I just noticed this. What do you mean by you changed the large AND medium roads? Did you edit the medium roads yourself? I never changed any of the medium roads so it didn’t come from me. If your medium roads are changed, it came from someone else’s mod.

Yes, the stations use the medium roads except for the rail stations. They use the small roads. That’s why I had to change them in the No Small Roads mod to use the medium roads because the people couldn’t get to the train stations. I have someone testing this but he hasn’t gotten back to me yet. I’ll have to ask him whats up. I’ll let ya know if he found any errors while using it.

Edit: do you guys think they’ll fix that “auto” shaping of routes where roads become squiggly and stuff? I find that almost game breaking I don’t understand why it’s in the game

I’ve seen this many times. You’d pull a road from another that’s on a curve or something similar and the road would be curved and you just can’t get it straight. Well, I found a way to do it. You have to make a very small radius curve where you’re pulling it from, and line it up in the direction you want to go. Then pull the straight road from that.

I think because they’re made using splines, that’s why it does it. That’s what you mean, right? Or do you mean when generating a new map? I wish the roads were created straighter too.

I had this problem the other day and was constantly removing stops and rebuilding them to try and fix it. I’d fix one and the next one would go around the block. fix that one and another would do it.

I like the ‘Tolls’ idea but it would be useless in my games now. I play without many cars now since I found out to edit the speed to 10 mph. Now I have no traffic jams and my stations have passengers when before it was all messed up.

If they fix the car mess one day, I might have more in my games but for now I’ll run with very few cars.

And I agree with crossmr. This is 2014. The games now a days should be able to calculate what he mentioned with how powerful our computers are now. This game just isn’t optimized properly like mentioned many times by many players. I’m hoping this small team will figure it out to make it better.

Oh, my bad, sorry. I didn’t realize that. That’s cool. I honestly only tried it just to try it for now. I haven’t really played the game in a while and only have a couple mods installed. I basically only start the game to test a mod or something I’m working on until they do something about the cargo in the game.

I’m curious, tho, about the Steam support. Not saying anything bad about it but what is the use of it? I don’t see how knowing a persons Steam ID is useful. I’m obviously missing something. Or is it just to identify the creator of the mod?

EDIT: I read the manual you made for this. Very nice. I found a couple typos but mainly was well written and very helpful. Thank you.

Oh, a non-German speaking modder. Awesome. that’s cool because there are a couple things I like on the German site but can’t use them fully because I don’t understand the language. TFedit is one and the converter is the other. I can use them but only sparingly.

Thanks for the .rar support buy I don’t like it because it converts my .rar files to .zip and leaves the .zip files on my drives. This is not good because it doubles the the files I install and takes up more space this way. I have plenty of space but don’t like .zip files nor do I like having double files that I install. I’ll just have to wait until you get better .rar support because I only use .rar files and refuse to use .zip files because of how Windows displays them as folders. That is very annoying to me and the trick to disable it doesn’t work.

I like the restore points for the game. This way you can have different version with different mods for different saved games. I can see that coming in handy a lot. And there are some good feature in this that I like. 🙂

I can see something being a problem tho. I added a mod and activated it. I then removed it without deactivating it just to see what happened. I had to remove the mod manually after doing that and that sucked having to do it. I think you might want to add something to that so the mod is not uninstalled without being deactivated. I think this will cause problems for people if they don’t know what to do.

Oh yeah, I also like that it’s not in German like the rest of TF programs are. Thanks for making it in english. 😀

So you’re saying the sale didn’t come from Urban Games? I can see that being the case. It’s just odd because as said before, good games don’t go on sale 2 months after it’s release. None of the other games I bought from Steam went on sale like this. I bought 5 games from Steam and not one of them were on sale soon after it’s release that I’ve noticed. So we’ll just have to wait and see what happens since they don’t post anything about their plans for the game.

Is this going to be a replacement for TFMM?

I see it only opens .zip files. 🙁 Will .rar be supported in the future?
