I just used the converter for my model but when viewed in the viewer, the model is dark, with and without the textures. I have no bump or specular maps yet but can’t see that mattering

Can you tell me if something is wrong with it? No other models I viewed is dark like this. Will have to wait until tomorrow to see how it goes in-game. Time for bed now. Hopefully nothing is wrong with it…

so I’d like to hear how that works out. I would experiment on my own, but I have been beyond busy this week.

I should know in a couple days. This model is taking a really long time having to fix it up. It was made with Train Sim Modeler and it has no snap-to feature so everything is all off and I’m making sure the model is sealed. I’m not sure how the game would handle a model with open faces showing. msts used a LOT of alphas but I don’t see any in TF. All their models are all sealed so I’m guessing that’s how it has to be and that’s what’s taking the most time. But I did find one, out of many I looked at, that had an axle where the ends weren’t capped.

@douglas, how did you add the images so as a link so they open up like yours do? I tried and couldn’t figure it out. I use Imgur, com.

    Thanx

Here’s something I’m working on. It’s an msts engine from the Chessie set from Dekosoft. The problem is that they used 6 images on the model and TF stuff only uses one so I have to combine all the textures together and remap the model to use one image. I don’t see anywhere in TF files to use multiple images so am hoping this works. Also, TF images are 1024×1024 and this will have to be 2048×2048 and don’t know how TF will handle it. Will just have to wait and see how it works. I also have to fix up the model. The grabs and railings are crap and need fixing. I’m almost done with it. Probably be done with it tomorrow but am not sure if I can release it since it’s payware. Maybe I can contact someone from Dekosoft to ask permission but they probably won’t like that I imported their model to use for something else. msts people are kinda picky about that.

You should be able to run a small map without much problems and MAYBE a medium map but I highly doubt you’d be able to run a large map. I have a quad core with a 2 gig ram GeForce and it runs like crap. I’m sorry I wasted my money on it. Even if it did run better, the game sux and needs work unless you like running trains with only 2-4 cars on them. There are way too many industries spread out all over and there’s no way to use long trains with a large load on them. You CAN run longer trains but don’t even think about waiting for full load because the indusgtries you’re using will stop producing.

The game looks good but that’s about it. I’m one that’s disappointed with it and hope they make it better so I don’t feel like I waste my money.

Not everyone has the Steam version you know…

How do you get a non-steam version?

Go here; http://steamcommunity.com/app/304730  to the Steam Community and scroll down to ‘Guide on how to create bridges or underpasses’. It’s not far down and will tell you how to build bridge easier.

I feel the same as xynix. As it is now, the trains needed is only 4 to 6 cars long. To me that’s boring. I’d also like them to produce more to get longer trains to run longer distances.

As it is now, there are too many industries all clogging up the map. I’d rather have this game more like Locomotion or TTD where just a few industries supplies the whole map, meaning longer trains with higher/heavier payloads.

AND it would be cool to have more than one type of goods like in Locomotion and TTD.

Here is the same thing but next to the track. These usually go away just by relaying the track but not always. I did manage to delete the others but it’s not easy getting it to light up to do so.

@pleym, you do realize that your setup will NOT work because of the one-way signals by the station, right? The stations have signals built into them so there is no need for signals right before or after the station. The way you have it now, depending on what side of the track they are placed, the trains will either enter the station or leave the station but not both because of the one-way signals.

@Pedro, thanx for the reply. I’ll have to look into the program to see if I can use it because I plan on doing some modding when the animation and others are figured out. I have a boat load of MSTS stuff and some of my own that I can convert for the game. I’m wanting a CabForward and BigBoy in my game as well as a bunch of trucks I got from 18 Wheels of Steel. I just need to figure out how to do chrome on the trucks for this game. I might just have to change them to grey for the chrome tho. Either way, I have a set of trucks in mind to do. Tractor-Trailer that is.

EDIT: Thank you for the offer of doing the maps for us if needed.

@PitchBlack,  you didn’t place any signals on your track. The game is probably trying to figure out what path to use. I use sidings too but have never had your problem because I use signals where needed.

About the internet use with the error reporting turned off. We do use the steam user-stats and achievement system, this does also use the connection. On our side, we only get the crash dumps if your game crashes and your error reporting is on.

Thank you for explaining that mikael. That had me wondering what was going on with this game since it has the problems that it does but now I understand. My game laggs a lot and was wondering if that was part of the reason for the lag but I guess my quad core with a GeForce GTX 650 Ti isn’t good enough to run this game well. Hopefully you guys can get some optimization going to get it to run better because it gets very annoying playing it like it is now and if it continues this way, I don’t see me playing it for very long.

If feel it’s a good game but after playing TTD and Locomotion, I don’t consider this game a very good train game because of the limitation of the cargo and goods. While others might enjoy watching a bunch of trains with 4-6 cars running around, I’d rather see longer trains with a hell of a lot more cars on them.

I hope to see further development of this game and it gets the features needed to make it a high quality game because the possibilities are there, they just need to be implemented.
