I like the idea of long, this maps although I’m indifferent about setting the number of towns. I think that if you don’t service towns in some way the population should dwindle and the town should eventually die out. It would be great if new towns were settled and industries built sometimes too, possibly with transport subsidies offered to get them up and running

Agree with Parsiuk, trains should have set platforms and we need the ability to assign which platform is served by which line

Agree with a lot of your points however I think stations should modernize themselves as time progresses tbh.

Adding extra lines to stations should definitely be implemented, so many times I have deleted a station and tried to replace it with an extra track only to find it tries to snap to the road slight differently and doesn’t line up with the existing track running into it

Would also like to see multi-line depots added, most depots IRL have more than one track

they should also unload and load simultaneously if applicable, the way they do IRL. Maybe the devs will look at this in an upcoming patch

Not sure you can place high speed rails in stations, I haven’t worked it out yet

Once they leave their current location (home, work, leisure, industry etc.) to embark on their journey they have 20 minutes until they self implode. So if that time is up while they are on a train then ‘poof’… gone forever (or maybe just back to their original home, I asked this question in another thread this morning)

I’d be interested to know what actually happens to the citizens who disappear if their 20 minutes passes without them reaching their destination. Do they vanish from the game or do they regenerate back at their home. If they vanish it could be the reason that cities seem to take so long to grow

you need to use signals at the passing points otherwise 1 train will wait at the station until there other one arrrives

doesn’t make sense that they get off the train and back on again, guess its just another thing that should be addressed by the devs

I’d love to see some UK rail history in a pack, specifically the mid – late 90’s up until current day. I’m no good at modeling but I’d be happy to contribute research if it would help.

Nereksand – I would say that’s quite realistic though, between 1850 -1920 there weren’t many options to choose from in real life as the age of steam was new and these machines were expensive and time consuming to create. In more recent years that is not the case

I’m not sure how I feel about time taking so long tbh, just think if it ran at 1/10 its current speed, it would take 10 times longer for revenue to generate and 10 times longer for new vehicles to be released at the start of the game. I think that could get quite boring for repeat play

Thank you so much for posting this Leew – without this warning I would have wondered wtf was happening with my new electric trains. Devs this needs to be fixed asap IMO, sometimes its the tiniest segment of track that causes the issue, it is hard to find even with the foresight of this warning

Stonelouse – What I was trying to get at was that goods are demanded by a city to produce more potential passengers in the form of growth, but if you have a consumption only industry it doesn’t really fit the game mechanic as the items delivered to that industry just effectively disappear. If the power station was required by a town to produce power in order to create growth (more passengers to potentially use your services) then it would make sense

I think it works quite well and is quite realistic. It doesn’t demand materials unless its supply is being filled and the raw industries don’t produce unless the manufacturing industries require its product.

What are your ideas as to how it should be changed?
